Pelton Solutions, LLC is a software company founded in 2012 by Nathan Pelton. We build tools that make business processes less dependent on spreadsheets, group chats, and one person remembering how it works.
It started with dinner
The first thing we built was not business software. It was a web app for planning a week of meals: recipes, preferences, nutrition, and a shopping list that came out the other end, all aimed at eating something different on a Tuesday than you ate the Tuesday before.
To make the shopping list useful it needed to know what was already in the cupboard. So it grew an inventory module.
The inventory feature took over
A local college needed to track consumables and equipment for its medical laboratory training program and asked whether that inventory module could do the job.
It could, with work. That work turned the module into a standalone product with proper business tooling around it, and Knowledge ERP was the result. It is available to anyone now, and it remains the product the rest of the company grew around.
What we are now
Three products, in three fairly different markets: inventory and asset management, website publishing, and CRM for live-streaming talent agencies. The common thread is not the industry. It is the shape of the problem: work that has outgrown the tools being used to track it.

How we decide what to build
We are not trying to enter markets. Every product here exists because somebody described a specific, boring, repeated problem and there was no tool that fit it properly. A college could not keep track of laboratory consumables. A business owner wanted a website that would still work in three years without anybody patching it. An agency was running a roster of live-streaming hosts out of a group chat and a spreadsheet.
That approach has an obvious limit: we only build things we can understand well enough to get right, so the range grows slowly. It also has an advantage. Because we use these products in our own work, the rough edges get found by us before they get found by a customer. This website is published with Swiftrics, which means every awkward thing about the publishing flow is something we have had to live with.
We stay deliberately small. There is no sales team to get past and no support tier to escalate through. If you email about a feature, you are usually emailing the person who wrote it.
